Description

The Wappen von Hamburg, third of her name. Built 1965, Howaldtswertke Hamburg, 4438 GRT, 1,800 passengers. From 1965 to 2006 she was the undisputed queen of North-Sea day-excursion boats, sailing between Hamburg(until 1983)/Cuxhaven and Heligoland in style and comfort during the summer season. In 2006 she was withdrawn. Conversion into a luxury cruise liner failed and she ended her days under the torches of Danish shipbreakers.
